[Dynamic Translation for Agent Chat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsRVDvjHqXw) Watch this video for more information on global support with Dynamic Translation for Agent Chat.\n\n## Prerequisite steps\n\nThese tasks must be completed prior to activating DTAC:\n\n-   [Integrate with a translation service provider](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/platform-administration/integrate-translation-service-provider.md)\n-   [Migrate to version v3 of a translator configuration](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/platform-administration/migrate-v3-dynamic-translation.md)\n-   [Translate a knowledge article](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/servicenow-platform/translate-knowledge-article.md)\n\n## Activating DTAC\n\nDTAC translates chat conversations from one language to another. The preferred languages for the agent and requester are based on their user profiles and a translation service translates the messages into the defined language of the other participant. Translation service providers support language detection for requesters who are not logged in to ServiceNow®, also referred to as guest users.\n\nDTAC is inactive by default. Before activating DTAC, the following requirements must be completed:\n\n-   [Dynamic translation](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/platform-administration/dynamic-translation.md)\n-   [Set up Agent Chat](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/conversational-interfaces/agent-chat/ac-configure-agent-chat.md)\n-   [Activate a language](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/platform-administration/t_ActivateALanguage.md)\n\nActivate the Dynamic Translation for Agent Chat plugin \\(com.glide.cs.dynamic.translation.agent.chat\\).\n\nThis also activates these plugins:\n\n-   Dynamic Translation \\(com.glide.dynamic\\_translation\\)\n-   Conversational Dynamic Translation \\(com.glide.dynamic\\_translation.va\\_async\\)\n\nand these system properties:\n\n-   true - sync\n-   false - async\n-   absence of this property - async\n\n## Transferring from Virtual Agent to a live agent\n\nOnce an agent accepts a chat, they can see the chat history between the Virtual Agent and requester in their preferred language for more context.\n\nVirtual Agent topics must be set up in the desired languages prior to using DTAC. To learn more about how to set up topics, see [Virtual Agent Designer](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/conversational-interfaces/virtual-agent/conversation-designer-virtual-agent.md).\n\n\\[Omitted image \"transfer-va-live-agent.png\"\\] Alt text: Transferring from virtual agent to live agent\n\n## Translation support in chat conversations\n\nWhen DTAC is enabled, these items are translated in chat conversations:\n\n-   Users' messages\n-   System messages\n-   Virtual Agent chat history\n-   Record card field values\n-   Rich controls\n\n    |Type|Rich Control|\n    |----|------------|\n    |User input|String|\n    |User input|Static choice list|\n    |User input|Reference choice|\n    |User input|Boolean|\n    |User input|Date time|\n    |User input|File picker|\n    |User input|Carousel|\n    |Bot response|Text|\n    |Bot response|Single link|\n    |Bot response|Multiple links|\n    |Bot response|Multi-flow output|\n    |Bot response|Script output|\n    |Bot response|Record card|\n\n\nDTAC does not support record card labels. For this functionality to operate, system localization properties must be configured. Navigate to **System Properties** > **System Localization**. For more information, see ServiceNow® product documentation on Localization settings.\n\n\\[Omitted image \"messages-translation-support.png\"\\] Alt text: Messages and record card translation support\n\n## Analytical reports for DTAC\n\nYou can generate a report that counts the number of DTAC chats, to assess how many conversations use the DTAC option.\n\nMonitor the number of true values in the Translated column in the Interaction table. For more information, see the ServiceNow® product documentation on Interaction records in Workspace Interaction records in Agent Workspace.\n\n**Parent Topic:**[Configuring Agent Chat](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/conversational-interfaces/agent-chat/ci-agent-chat-configuring.md)\n\n"}}
