Use the Decision utility to branch the conversation when certain conditions are met.\n\n## Before you begin\n\nFor more information about the Decision utility, see [Decision utility](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/conversational-interfaces/virtual-agent/va-decision.md).\n\nRole required: virtual\\_agent\\_admin or admin\n\n## Procedure\n\n1.  Navigate to **All** &gt; **Conversational Interfaces** &gt; **Assistant Designer**.\n\n2.  Select the **Asset library** tab.\n\n3.  In the Asset library, open a topic and view the **Flow** tab.\n\n4.  Drag the **Decision** utility onto the canvas.\n\n    The **Decision** utility node added to the canvas has a single branch named **Always** by default.\n\n    **Note:** If you insert a **Boolean** user input control, you're prompted to add a **Decision** utility directly after the Boolean node on the canvas. Selecting **Yes** on the Boolean node's Decision utility prompt automatically generates two branches named **True** and **False**. The two branches conditions are automatically set through the condition builder.\n\n5.  Select the plus sign \\(**+**\\) under the node.\n\n    A second branch named **Always** is added below the Decision utility node.\n\n6.  Select the plus sign \\(**+**\\) under the node to add additional branches.\n\n7.  Select a branch label, and then specify the branch properties in the form.\n\n<table id=\"table_yjw_nj3_yrb\"><thead><tr><th>\n\nField\n\n</th><th>\n\nDescription\n\n</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>\n\nName\n\n</td><td>\n\nUnique name for the branch.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nCondition\n\n</td><td>\n\nExpression logic to specify a condition for following this branch in the conversation. The condition must evaluate to true.-   **Condition**: Use the [Condition builder](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/platform-user-interface/c_ConditionBuilder.md) to add or edit conditions.\n-   **Script**: Use the script editor to create or edit a script that contains a condition statement.\n\n\n</td></tr></tbody>\n</table>8.  Define the properties for each branch in the Decision utility.\n\n9.
