{"revision":"c10276e953456835cdbb1f3a60d58ae1980be353","document":{"id":5415,"path":"core-business-suite/set-assignment-rules-cbs.md","title":"Set assignment rules in CBS","bundle":null,"doc_type":null,"release":"australia","body":"\n# Set assignment rules in CBS\n\nConfigure assignment rules for each business unit in Core Business Suite to control how tasks are automatically assigned to groups or users based on defined conditions.\n\n## Before you begin\n\nRole required: sn\\_cbs.admin\n\n## About this task\n\nAssignment rules are available by default for all business units. The default setting is inactive. Set the default configuration as **Active** for the business units you require.\n\n## Procedure\n\n1.  Navigate to **Admin Home** > **Core Business Suite** and select **Configure** on the Product Hub page.\n\n2.  In the **Configuration Summary** section, go to the **Assignment Rules** section of the business unit you want to configure, such as Human Resources.\n\n3.  In the **Active** list, select **true** for the default assignment rules you plan to use for that business unit.\n\n4.  Select a default assignment rule to open and edit it.\n\n5.  On the Edit assignment rule form, complete the fields and select **Save**.\n\n    For a description of the field values, see [Assignment rule form](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/core-business-suite/assignment-rules-cbs.md).\n\n6.
