For more information, see [Create Respond automation](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-operations-management/event-management/respond-alert-sow-itom.md).\n\n## Procedure\n\n1.  Access remediation actions in one of the following ways:\n\n    -   Quick actions in an alert, as described in [Apply a quick response in an alert](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-operations-management/event-management/apply-quick-response-in-alert.md).\n    -   The Playbook tab in Service Operations Workspace, as described in [Run actions to resolve alert issues](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-operations-management/event-management/run-alert-remediation.md) .\n2.  Configure additional input in the alert's **Additional Information** field, using this format:\n\n    `{\"remediation_action_resource\":\"<mandatory input>\"}`\n\n    The mandatory input per action is described in the following table.\n\n    |Action name|Mandatory input in Additional information field|\n    |-----------|-----------------------------------------------|\n    |Stop Windows Process|Process ID|\n    |Restart Linux Service|Service Name|\n    |Kill Linux Process|Process ID|\n    |Get Windows Processes|N/A|\n    |Stop Windows Service|Service Display Name|\n    |Restart Windows Service|Service Display Name|\n    |Get Windows Services|N/A|\n    |Stop Linux Service|Service Name|\n    |Start Windows Service|Service Display Name|\n    |Suspend Windows Service|Service Display Name|\n    |Get Linux Services|N/A|\n    |Run Linux Top for Memory|N/A|\n    |Show Disk Space Used|N/A|\n    |Run Linux Top|N/A|\n    |Start Linux Service|Service Name|\n    |Show Disk Space Used|N/A|\n\n\n## Result\n\nAfter executing an alert action, the results are noted in the **Work Notes** field of the alert.\n\n**Parent Topic:**[Alert management rules for resolving alerts](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-operations-management/event-management/alert-management-rule.md)\n\n**Related topics**  \n\n\n[Troubleshooting WMI/Powershell issues on the remote machine](https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0549830)\n\n[WMI, PowerShell, and Windows Firewalls](https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0549828)\n\n[MID Server: troubleshooting WMI/Powershell issues - Credentials](https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0549834)\n\n[How to Enable/Test PowerShell Remoting on Windows Host](https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0813330)\n\n"}}
