Discovering some of these resources might require updating to the latest version of the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application from the ServiceNow Store.\n\n## Request apps on the Store\n\nVisit the [ServiceNow Store](https://store.servicenow.com/sn_appstore_store.do#!/store/home) to view all the available apps, and for information about submitting requests to the store. For cumulative release notes information for all released apps, see the [ServiceNow Store version history release notes](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/store-release-notes/sn-store-release-notes.html).\n\n## Prerequisites\n\n- **Verify that the applications are up to date**\n - Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns\n - CMDB CI Class Models\n - Visibility Content\n- **Create Azure cloud credentials**\n\n Create Microsoft Azure credentials that can access the Microsoft Azure account. For more information, see [Create Azure cloud credentials](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-operations-management/discovery/create-azure-cloud-credentials.md).\n\n- **Configure a discovery schedule**\n\n [Create a discovery schedule in Cloud Discovery Workspace](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-operations-management/discovery/cloud-operations-disco-create-schedule.md)\n\n\n## Verify the REST API permissions\n\nDownload the [Cloud Discovery patterns spreadsheet](https://downloads.docs.servicenow.com/resource/enus/api/servicenow-discovery-patterns-api-details.xlsx) so you can grant user permissions required for running the Discovery patterns. In addition to permissions, the spreadsheet also includes useful information such as pattern names, types, CI Classes, and links to vendor documentation. New patterns are available quarterly, so check periodically to be sure you have the latest version of the spreadsheet.\n\n## How Discovery finds Microsoft Azure resources\n\nDiscovery uses the Cloud Provisioning and Governance API and Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns to find cloud resources.\n\n<table id=\"table_wwr_rng_gz\"><thead><tr><th>\n\nPattern\n\n</th><th>\n\nDescription\n\n</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>\n\nAzure DataBase \\(LP\\)\n\n</td><td>\n\nDiscovers database types of:\n\n- Microsoft.sql/servers\n- microsoft.sql/managedInstances\n- microsoft.dbformysql\n- microsoft.documentdb/databaseaccounts\n- microsoft.cache/redis\n- microsoft.dbforpostgresql/servers\n- microsoft.dbformysql/servers\n- microsoft.dbformysql/flexibleservers\n- microsoft.dbforpostgresql/flexibleservers\n\n Populates the \\[cmdb\\_ci\\_cloud\\_database\\] table.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nAzure LoadBalancer TD\n\n</td><td>\n\nRetrieves Microsoft Azure load balancers and populates the cmdb\\_ci\\_lb\\_service table.
