The Approvers related list in the improvement contains a list of user approval records and the state of the approval.\n\nThe users in the Approvers related list belong to the **Approver Group** specified on the Improvement Initiative form. Once the improvement has been approved by an Approver Group member, approval from other members is no longer required to progress the improvement. However, other Approver Group members can still set their individual approval state.\n\nTo require additional approvers, configure the CIM Approval workflow in [Flow Designer](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/application-development/flow-designer.md).\n\n## Improvement process flow\n\n\\[Omitted image \"cim-closed.png\"\\] Alt text: CIM process flow\n\n<table id=\"table_l1v_mfc_zdb\"><thead><tr><th>\n\nProcess flow\n\n</th><th>\n\nRole\n\n</th><th>\n\nDescription\n\n</th><th>\n\nNext action\n\n</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>\n\n**Create Improvement Initiative**\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Requester\n\n</td><td>\n\nThe need is determined for an improvement and an improvement request is created.\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Submit.**\n\n Required: Short Description\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nNew\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Manager\n\n</td><td>\n\nAcceptance is determined by verifying that the improvement objective aligns to a company strategic objective, and an Improvement Coordinator is assigned.\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Accept.**\n\n Required:\n\n- Improvement Coordinator\n- Strategies\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nAccepted\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Manager\n\n</td><td>\n\nOther attributes are set and the improvement request is ready to be assessed for approval \\(by Approver group members\\).\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Assess.**\n\n \\(Waiting for approval\\)\n\n Approver group members are notified.\n\n Required: Approver Group\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nAssess\n\n</td><td>\n\nCIM approver\\(member of the Approver group\\)\n\n [CIM approver states](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-service-management/continual-improvement-management/cim-reference.md)\n\n</td><td>\n\nThe improvement attributes are assessed for approval from the Approvers related list.\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Approved.**\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nApproved\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Manager or Improvement Coordinator\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Coordinator and Improvement Manager work together to determine what is needed to ready the improvement for implementation.\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Implement**.\n\n **Actual start date** \\(Schedule tab\\) is automatically populated.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nImplement\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Coordinator\n\n</td><td>\n\nImplementation of the improvement begins with the assigned task owners.Any problem, change, or knowledge submission is shown in the corresponding related list.\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Review** if implementation is complete.\n\n Click **On Hold** if the process has halted.\n\n Required: On Hold Reason\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nOn Hold\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Manager or Improvement Coordinator\n\n</td><td>\n\nImplementation for the improvement has halted \\(**On Hold** state\\) but the process flow remains in **Implement**.\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Implement** to continue the process.\n\n Click **Close** if no further work will be done.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nReview\n\n</td><td>\n\nImprovement Manager\n\n</td><td>\n\nThe improvement attributes are reviewed for completeness and efficacy for closure.\n\n</td><td>\n\nClick **Close**.\n\n Required: Closure Notes tab\n\n **Actual end date** is automatically populated.\n\n</td></tr></tbody>\n</table>- **[Continual Improvement Management roles](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-service-management/continual-improvement-management/cim-roles.md)** \nRoles are added with installation of Continual Improvement Management.\n- **[Improvement field descriptions](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-service-management/continual-improvement-management/cim-field-descriptions.md)** \nImprovement Initiative form and related field descriptions.\n- **[Components installed with Continual Improvement Management](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-service-management/continual-improvement-management/cim-components.md)** \nSeveral types of components are installed with the CIM plugin, including tables, user roles, and scheduled jobs.\n- **[Quick tests for Continual Improvement Management](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-service-management/continual-improvement-management/quick-tests-cim.md)** \nValidate the continued functionality of Continual Improvement Management during application development and after upgrades.
